Census Information Management SaaS for NGO beneficiaries

Wolf Frameworks, a leading Cloud Computing, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) Venture, headquartered in Bangalore, is now the official support for SEDS, one of the largest NGOs in India, that is based in the drought prone Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.

Due to the lack of a suitable IT solution, in the past, SEDS utilized a disconnected system consisting of a standalone database and several spreadsheets for collecting data. Manual methods for data analysis were time consuming and error prone and the master repository was huge.

SEDS’ operations consist of conducting development programs which are followed up by regular surveys. These surveys track real-time population, resource & program statistics and a road-map of how the program is working, the channelization of funds/efforts and the resultant success/failure of programs. From tracking the lady of the house to cattle, thatched roofs, electricity, land ownership & household income, SEDS gathers micro-census information to serve the population effectively. SEDS primarily works on Environment Restoration-Development-Afforestation, Women Empowerment, Education, Health, Sustainable Agriculture, HIV/AIDS awareness and now Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) which overlooks and manages the needs of 250 villages.

Over the last few months, the WOLF Frameworks team worked closely with SEDS to create Census Information Management Solution (CIMS), a customized, Web-based Software-as-a-Service solution that captures SEDS data, processes it and generates analytical reports. CIMS allows SEDS to collect and relate-consolidate data into a central repository and automates the process of data analysis, presenting reports and charts on different metrics at the click of a button and also generates a Unique Identification Number which helps to locate and track individual data. The application imports the previous data records of five years maintained in Microsoft Access Databases and spreadsheets and was built keeping the future growth of SEDS and its operations in mind.
