Case Study

Avanta leverages Converged Communications

Datacraft’s Converged Communications Solutions have improved Avanta’s users’ experience and ensures its 24x7 availability

To set up a converged communications infrastructure for its two new business service centers in Mumbai, Avanta, a UK-based provider of serviced office space selected Datacraft’s converged communications solutions. The infrastructure is designed to achieve high service standards and cost efficiencies for Avanta’s customers that use its facilities.

The company manages a growing portfolio of office suites in prime locations across the United Kingdom, and most recently has made its foray into the burgeoning Indian market with offices in Delhi and two business centers in Mumbai.

The two business service centers in Mumbai were launched simultaneously at Fort and Bandra-Kurla Complex. Both centers are equipped with modern communications technology, including VoIP telephone systems, scalable Internet access and dedicated client server rooms.

The challenge

The challenge was to build a converged communication infrastructure and a secure telephony infrastructure for both these centers. The key thing was the ability to have a converged backbone not only in Delhi but at the locations in Mumbai as well. The foundation network infrastructure was in place (Delhi), and Avanta wanted a scalable architecture without reinvesting again. The main challenge faced by Datacraft was to integrate Avanta’s call billing solution to the IPT solution and EVOT call attendant solution for incoming call management.

Avanta had previously engaged Datacraft to set up a converged communication infrastructure at its first business service centre in New Delhi in 2007. When Avanta decided to expand to Mumbai, Datacraft was the obvious choice for the installation of the IP Network and IP Telephony (IPT) platform for the two new centers.

The solution

Datacraft’s Converged Communications solutions integrated new technologies with existing communication channels (already at Delhi office) to help Avanta offer greater flexibility and efficiency in communication across multiple channels to its corporate tenants.

An end-to-end IPT solution was installed at each of the Avanta’s new business services centre in Mumbai. Hardware including IP end points, VoIP phone system, high-speed Internet access was deployed. Cisco Call Manager, a call processing software that extends enterprise- grade telephony features and functions over an IP network to devices such as IP phones and media processing equipment), was used.

“The converged communication infrastructure has equipped our business service centers with the latest communications technology for an improved user experience, and make us the preferred choice for their office facilities,” said Sean Morgan, Managing Director, Avanta India.

The solution included Datacraft IPT Deployment Methodology (IPTDM) – a global consistent framework with best practice guidelines, tools, processes and templates to ensure quality, smooth implementation and timely delivery of Avanta’s IP Telephony network and a VoIP Phone system that allows one-touch connectivity to business contacts.
