Tech Tip of the Week

Add a folder to the Send To menu

When we insert a USB drive, we get an option in the Send To menu for the drive, but apart from that, many a times you need to access a folder on your computer all too often and would not like to add a shortcut on the desktop. In that case, there’s no need to access the folder to Copy and Paste files. Just add the concerned folder to your Send To menu by:

  • Open any folder
  • Go to Tools -> Folder Options
  • Click the View tab
  • In list of Advanced Settings, click Show hidden files and folders
  • Now, go to C:\Documents and Settings
  • Here, double click and open your (username) folder
  • Now, open the SendTo folder within that folder
  • Here copy and paste the shortcut to your frequently accessed folder

Now, to transfer files to your frequently used folder:

  • Right Click the file
  • Then, Send To
  • Click the folder’s name on the Send To list
