Net4 enters security business

Net4 India Ltd. has forayed into the security services business by launching the Net4 Secure service for medium enterprises. An automated security auditing service for Web sites and online applications, Net4 Secure would be based on a SaaS platform. The service would be available for businesses and individuals at Rs.4,990 per year. However, as an introductory offer, the company is offering this service for Rs. 999 up to February 2008.

The application service would identify possible security loopholes in Web site or online content and related applications. For the purpose, Net4 has partnered with Appin Security Group. This service would offer cyber security services to Web sites and/or any online applications by way of ethical hacking—an approach adopted with the permission of a client. It would then offer range of security services which include auditing, penetration testing, specialized security consulting, security policy formulation, and development of bespoke security software for one’s organization.

“Net4 shall invest to the tune of Rs. 14 crores over the next three years in application & network related infrastructure for this service segment. We expect the business to scale up to the tune of Rs. 30 crores per annum in FY’2010, said Jasjit Sawhney, Chairman & CEO, Net4 India Ltd.

Initially the company intends to target its existing customers for this service. Besides, it also has plans to launch an aggressive Internet based advertising campaign aimed at reaching customers and web resellers in select international markets other than India.
