FINO organizes MFI Conference – Horizon 2007

Financial Information Network and Operations Ltd. (FINO), a multi-bank promoted company to facilitate inclusive banking services, organized the third annual “MFI Conference – Horizon 2007” at Renaissance, Mumbai

FINO in partnership with IBM, ICICI Lombard, i-flex solutions and NCR had organized this annual conference for Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) across India. This conference provided an open platform for the participants to network amongst themselves to evolve innovative financial inclusion practices that will maximize operational success.

Speaking on the occasion, Manish Khera, CEO, FINO, said, “FINO is extremely excited to host this conference and address the MFI community to discuss scalable technology options for MFI growth. The focal point of discussion in the forum was on ‘Current Trends and Opportunities for Growth in MFI Sector’, ‘Technology Enabled Financial Service Delivery’, and ‘Fund Raising Alternatives and Transparency’. It featured eminent industry personalities who discussed about various challenges faced by the MFI sector in terms of scalability, need of process driven operation efficiencies and how to offer complete financial services to the needy in a cost effective manner.

At the conference, FINO sought the opinion of participants on individual lending methodology and credit modeling/scoring as a strategy to reduce credit risk of clients. It had all the components to present an invaluable experience for the senior management and key technical personnel’s from the financial institutions.

FINO also showcased and launched three new products at this forum related to loan life cycle management, effective savings deposits management, and remittance solution. The products included MDM Device, Offline Loan Originating System and Smart Card enabled Remittance Solution.

“FINO has been developing financial services delivery systems at very affordable charges to enable financial institutions to lower transactions costs, increase their outreach and bring more transparency in their business,” added Khera.
