Tech Tip of the Week

Enable System Restore in Windows Vista

The System Restore service is disabled by default in Windows Vista. You may wish to enable it, as it is a very useful feature if it works for you.

  • Click on the “Start” button.
  • Right click on “My Computer” and then click on “Properties”.
  • On the left hand side, click “Advanced Settings”.
  • If asked to permit the action, click on “Allow”.
  • Click on the “System Protection” tab.
  • Select the hard drives that you wish to enable System Restore upon.
  • Press Apply. You can now create your first restore point.
