Tata Teleservices partners with RSA for information-centric security

Tata Teleservices Ltd (TTSL) has announced a strategic partnership with RSA, the security division of EMC. As a first step, TTSL has selected the RSA enVision platform for compliance and security information management.

This decision will allow TTSL to derive benefits that cover the automation of the audit trail consolidation process; a real-time assessment of the threat landscape; and the comprehensive reporting and compliance metrics that have increasingly become relevant by virtue of the spread of TTSL’s operations on a global scale. Arthur W Coviello, Jr., Executive Vice President, EMC Corporation & President, RSA, the security division of EMC, said, “Information is growing at a rapid pace and organizations are facing increasing operational challenges and regulatory expectations that are driving the need for real-time information management and information intelligence capabilities. The long-term retention of such information is an equally important consideration. We are working with leaders like TTSL to maximize and optimize the utility of information so that it is genuinely an asset and never a liability.”

Speaking on the occasion Navin Chadha, CIO – TTSL, said, “Information-centric security is imperative in today’s context, as a means of efficiently mining, managing and protecting the information that we generate within our infrastructure–and using it to help proactively manage incidents and events as they occur. We will continue to explore other avenues with RSA in this area in order to enhance operational efficiency and internal and external accountability.”

The agreement extends to covering RSA’s flagship two-factor authentication technology, RSA SecurID, which TTSL intends to employ to protect critical information assets, both from within and outside the enterprise.

Kumar Shivarams, Engagement Director – TCS for the TTSL engagement, said, “The criticality of a comprehensive Information Security Strategy is paramount in today’s age. As a strategic Partner of Tata Teleservices, TCS is fully committed to leverage its global expertise in building state-of-the-art IT infrastructure. The enVision platform of RSA is seen as the best fit solution for Tata Teleservices – given its enriched capabilities including scalability, Universal Device Support (UDS) and huge savings in data storage through compression. We strongly believe that this partnership will enable Tata Teleservices in implementing a comprehensive information security program.”
