INFOCOM 2007 coming to Hyderabad

Businessworld and CeBIT are bringing INFOCOM 2007 to Hyderabad. The event will be held at HITEX from November 28th to December 1st. The event which began in Kolkata in 2002, is stepping out of Kolkata for the first time.

DD Purkayastha, CEO, ABP said “Hyderabad is a natural choice due to its commanding presence, in both manpower and infrastructure, in the IT sector.”

He added, “We are taking INFOCOM outside of Calcutta for the first time and this will be a powerful platform for the IT and telecommunications industry. This exposition has been a great success in eastern India but being the largest national ICT event it needed to move out and Hyderabad was the obvious choice.”

Andhra Pradesh State IT secretary Shailendra K Joshi extended his support to the event and said that such events were a boost for Hyderabad and the infrastructure that the city boasts of is expected to deliver the goods. Joshi said, “With a growing need for convergent technologies, there is a great need for increased interaction amongst stakeholders and I feel that the state of AP could gain tremendous business value from a platform like INFOCOM 2007 at Hyderabad.”

The organizers aim to attract more than three hundred national and international exhibitors. The event will bring together 75 speakers, 1,500 delegates and over 50 corporates. It will consist of an exhibition and a conference. The exhibition will focus on product segments such as hardware, software, communications, services and infrastructure. The exhibition will have a separate gaming section.

In terms of business networking, the event will provide multiple platforms such as the CXO roundtable on IT-enabled intelligent infrastructure, The INFOCOM CXO Golf and INFOCOM Future Leadership Awards. The conference part of the event will consist of 30 sessions spread over four days, with the theme session being service excellence through ICT. There will also be an International Satellite Communication Conference organized by Hanover Fairs USA and others. Other forums will focus on ITES-BPO, global ICT, business continuity & data security, infrastructure, services, BFSI and e-Governance.
