Datacraft and Cisco bring you EC3
EC3 is a combined initiative undertaken by Datacraft and Cisco.
It is the first Experiential Centre for Converged Communication (EC3) and Security
Technology Integration Centre (STIC). This initiative aims to educate and create
awareness among Indian customers about the advantages of converged communication
and equips them to grapple with tightening security issues.
STIC functions with the tagline of understand, experience, collaborate
and adopt. The prime idea behind this is to familiarise consumers with
first understanding advanced technology used and then enabling them to help
experience its features. This also ensures collaboration of security networks
and elements and adapting to these new changes. Akshay Garkel, Consultant, Security
Solutions says, We secure what we sell. It remains to be seen whether
companies are looking to patch up information security with systems or are working
towards making it a holistic part of their systems.
STIC helps customers manage risk and compliance thereby preventing theft of
information.
EC3 spruces up communication by bringing in more reliability and converged communication
makes it possible to do business in real-time. EC3 stands for experience, connect,
communicate and collaborate. It thereby helps in communicating effectively and
productively independent of people and location. It is customised to each clients
personalised requirements and helps them counter challenges. Their priorities
are targeted towards efficiency, growth and resilience. The lab will showcase
a wide range of Converged Communications and Security Solutions like perimeter
security, intrusion management architecture, compliance management, rich media
collaborations, video interaction, unified messaging and enhanced business communications.
The need for real-time convergence has stemmed up from the increasing dependence
on e-mail and mobile phones as well as gathering dispersed people and information.
Some of the facilities entail getting voicemail in you re-mail inbox, imparting
training and giving presentations sitting on ones own desk, carrying ones
extension to anywhere inside the office, and so on. These will in turn lead
to virtualisation, rich media, natural language, modality and personalisation.
With a client list of players like SBI, Bharti Airtel, BSNL and Federal Bank,
Datacraft is aiming to attract large organisations which need to collaborate
across teams working in different locations. Their initial focus will be on
its traditional stronghold BSFI and ITES.
