Font Selection Takes Too Long

If Microsoft Word’s font selection dropdown list takes ages to show you the font choices available on your PC, you can speed things up by disabling the feature that displays each font’s name in that particular font. The idea is a laudable one, Word is trying to show you what each font looks like. However, most of us stick to using a handful of fonts that we are familiar with. So to disable the font preview in the font list go to Tools->Customise->Options and clear the checkbox for List font names in their font. Click on OK and you are done.
