Avaya’s UC solutions in India

Avaya Global Connect is a global provider of business communications applications, systems and services. It recently announced the launch of unified communications (UC) solution. The UC road show was held in two cities in India, Delhi and Mumbai and it showcased Avaya’s UC applications and the one-X solutions such as one-X Portal and one-X Mobile.

Intelligent communications embeds intelligent communications applications into real-time business operations, giving access to hitherto unavailable personalised capabilities. Its ability to provide a seamless user experience, enhanced customer service and a businesscontinuity solution are key drivers.

A recent IDC Asia Pacific survey states that businesses recognise a lack of an effective, unified communications system as being detrimental to business performance. Almost two-thirds of managers surveyed throughout the region admitted to missing an important business meeting, customer enquiry or new business opportunity by not being to call or e-mail someone.

“Avaya’s UC solutions enable employees to work from any where, resulting in a seamless user experience across all enterprise communications applications regardless of location, network, or device. It accelerates flow of communications, information, and processes, removing clutter and empowering individuals and teams to achieve the full potential of the enterprise,” said Diane Shariff, Director of Unified Communications Solutions, Avaya.

Avaya’s multi-vendor, multi-protocol strategy has consistently emphasised the streamlined integration of Avaya solutions with existing networks and applications. As such, it has built key partnerships some of the companies including Microsoft, IBM and Nokia to provide solutions that bring together communications applications, devices and infrastructure.

“Intelligent communications is not about being more connected, it is about helping the enterprise and their employees to be better connected. As a key solution under our intelligent communications strategy, UC addresses the issue of disconnected communications devices and applications,” said Amit Mehta, Director Marketing Avaya Global Connect.

He added, “The SMB sector needs to be educated about the benefits of unified solutions and it should be offered at a good price, if required customisation of the solution should also be done.”

According to him service provider will definitely play a major role in UC as it can help to bridge the gap between enterprise networks and consumer services.
