Lenovo opens an innovation center in India

Lenovo has announced the launch of its first innovation centre
in India. The centre is based in Mumbai and is spread across 4,500 square feet.
This is Lenovos third innovation centre, the first two are in the United
States and China respectively.
The Mumbai centre will enable large enterprises and SMBs that
are customers of Lenovo as well as its business partners, solution providers
and independent software vendors to collaborate on the development of personal
computing solutions.
Neeraj Sharma, Managing Director, Lenovo South Asia says, India is one
of the fastest growing markets for Lenovo. He further states that the
solutions and technologies that are incubated, developed and showcased in this
centre will be driven by customer requirements.
Moreover, it will also involve deep collaboration with Lenovos
partners in this venture to ensure that they find a satisfactory solution to
the IT problems faced by the companys customers.
Intel, Microsoft, LanDesk, IBM and Cisco will partner with Lenovo in this endeavour.
These partners will help Lenovo to showcase enterprise level PC solutions in
areas such as hardware platform, application integration, active management
technology, network connectivity and power management.
The centre will deploy globally developed solutions to meet specific customer
requirements in India. It will also be capable of developing solutions as and
when they are required by customers.
The centre will include several components such as technology incubation, partner
collaboration, solution development, imaging and training services.
Deepak Advani, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Lenovo says,
With our first innovation centre in India, we aim to help clients in developing
markets overcome diverse challenges. This centre will serve as a collaboration
venue for the creation of fully integrated solutions along with our alliance
partners.
The centre will act as a collaboration facility for the conception, development
or deployment of new solutions, which encompass technologies and services from
numerous companies.
At the centre, professionals from several companies such as Lenovo, Intel, Microsoft,
LanDesk, IBM and Cisco as well as other technology companies, independent software
vendors, and business partners will assemble together to brainstorm the possible
solutions, interlock components, and resolve the actual details of deployment.
