Tech Tip of the Week

Entering the current time into a cell in Excel

To enter the current time into a cell, first select a cell and press ‘Ctrl+Shift+;’. Alternatively, if you want to use a formula, enter =NOW (). This will give you the current date and time. For only the current time, change the format of the cell containing the formula to h:mm using the Format -> Cells dialog and choosing a custom format.
