Logitech’s Z-5450 speaker system

Features: Logitech has introduced a 5.1 speaker system with digital wireless dual rear speakers. Each of the speakers can be placed anywhere within 8.5 metres (28 feet) of the speaker system control centre and requires a power outlet. The speakers feature built-in wireless receiver and power amplifier. The 2.4 GHz wireless technology has adaptive frequency hopping to control interference. The speakers come with the Digital SoundTouch Control Centre which serves as a wireless control centre and digital decoder to configure the system. The speakers decode a broad range of formats including Dolby Digital, DTS, and DTS 96/24. The system comes with a wireless remote control and two-year warranty.

NetDevices’ SG-8 gateway

Features: The NetDevices SG-8 unified services gateway integrates branch services in one platform. The product includes a stateful firewall with DoS attack prevention, NAT, ALG & ACL capabilities. It has VoIP support through a SIP ALG gateway with QoS. Connectivity is on an IPSec VPN with a dedicated hardware accelerator offering 1Gbps-plus throughput. SMC’s Wireless Travel Voice Gateway

Features: SMC Networks’ SMC Wireless Travel Voice Gateway (SMCWTVG) integrates the functions of a wireless gateway and VoIP. It is targeted at the business traveller.

The SMCWTVG has built-in features like Network Address Translation, SPI Firewall and VPN pass-through, and provides users with the ability to construct a secure network. While using the public hotspot network, the SMCWTVG enhances security through the Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 and Wireless Equivalent Privacy encryption. The built-in 802.11b/g module and internal antenna allows the SMCWTVG to be compatible with both IEEE 802.11g and 802.11b standards; it can be operated at access point, wireless client or repeater mode.

Kingston’s memory cards

Features: Kingston Technology has launched microSD expansion memory cards as well as larger capacity miniSD and MMCmobile cards. The capacity of microSD is 256 MB with dimensions of 0.43” x 0.59” x 0.039” (11mm x 15mm x 1mm). Its miniSD and MMCmobile cards come with a capacity of 1 GB. The 1 GB cards provide increased storage capacity for new feature-rich multifunction mobile devices. Kingston’s new memory cards are available through its distributors Ingram Micro, AA Infoways and Transtek.

Omnitech’s OmniMonitor

Features: Omnitech has launched the OmniMonitor, an IT infrastructure monitoring service wherein SiteScope, a standalone appliance with an ‘agentless’ architecture, is installed at the customer's premises.

Omnitech continuously monitors the performance of critical distributed systems including hardware, operating systems, network, application and application components in all tiers of distributed computing in real-time.

By integrating OmniMonitor in the network, one can manage the performance of business-critical systems and applications. It works on what is called Pull Technology, which extracts all the desired information from various devices connected to the network and IT setup, and measures the parameters that are preset by customers. When there is a malfunction, OmniMonitor will detect and send alert messages to various levels of authority via voice-enabled device alarm, NOC view, e-mail or SMS.
