UCO-HP tie up to roll out CBS
The Kolkata-based UCO Bank has appointed Hewlett-Packard (HP) for rolling out its core banking solution (CBS) in 1,000 of its branches. As per the arrangement, HP will deploy information technology infrastructure and applications in the designated branches for a period of five years. The bank has selected HP after an extensive selection process.

West Bengal to have an IT research lab
West Bengal will soon have an Information Technology Research Lab, which will be set up at the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) in Kolkata. It will be the first of its kind in the region. Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, the State Chief Minister, disclosed this while interacting with the captains of the IT industry at an IT seminar held in the city recently. He said that the research lab would conduct high-end research in IT.

SBI-TCS set up tech platform
The country’s largest bank, State Bank of India (SBI) will provide a technology platform to rural and smaller banks through its joint venture company, C-Edge Technologies Limited. SBI has tied up with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in floating the joint venture company.
