Saharas sub-10k PC
Sahara Computers has launched the Sahara Multimedia PC with Intel technology
at a price of Rs 9,999. This initiative of the company makes it the first to
introduce PCs on the Intel platform in the sub-Rs 10,000-price range.
Sahara Computers, a joint venture between the South African IT major, Sahara
Computers (Pty), and Sahara India Parivar, had earlier introduced an AMD-powered
PC in the sub-Rs 10,000 price bracket.
The new Sahara PC is equipped with an Intel Celeron processor
2.13 GHz, 128 MB RAM, 40 GB HDD, 15 colour monitor, 52X CD-ROM, 5 Button
Sahara optical mouse, keyboard and 1-year onsite warranty. The PC comes with
a pre-loaded Linux OS. Sahara Desktop PCs retail in the range of Rs 9,999 to
Rs 50,000.
Xenitis appoints Supertron distributor
The Xenitis Group and Supertron Electronic have joined hands to strengthen their
portfolios in the personal computing segment. After signing an MoU with Supertron,
Xenitis expects to capture a larger market share in the computer peripherals
industry.
Every month, Xenitis will now supply Supertron at least 1,00,000 pieces each
of cabinets, SMPS, keyboards, mice and speakers for its channels and National
OEMs. This alliance comes within 45 days of the inauguration of the formers
component-manufacturing factory.
Said Xenitis Chairman Santanu Ghosh, This agreement
with Supertron has ensured an additional annual business of around Rs 150 crore
for us from the components division.
DOZ appoints IT People
Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ) has appointed IT People (India) as their partner
worldwide for promoting and marketing DOZ and helping clients to set up their
outsourcing base over there.
IT People will also be a partner of DOZ on a global basis for providing HR consultancy
services, facility management services, and build, operate and transfer services.
