Satyam is first certified Indian SI of JBoss

Open Source company, JBoss Inc and Satyam Computer Services announced a preferred partnership in which Satyam becomes JBoss’ first certified Indian System Integrator (SI). As a certified SI, Satyam will offer application development and subscription support services to enterprises, building and deploying solutions on the JBoss Enterprise Middleware System (JEMS), an open source application platform that includes the JBoss Application Server, Hibernate, JBoss Portal and the JBoss jBPM workflow engine.

Through JEMS, JBoss is making high quality middleware such as application server, workflow and portal technology easily accessible to the mass market without charging for the software licences. The JEMS platform features a plug-and-play architecture with open and standards-based products, so customers can use all or any piece of the stack. This brings greater flexibility and technology choice to end users, providing an alternative to today’s high-priced, monolithic proprietary platforms.

Manish Mehta, Director and Senior Vice-president, Business Unit Head, SAP ADMS, Satyam commented, “Satyam has been a pioneer in adopting new technologies that help us deliver significant business value for customers. We have once again demonstrated this by becoming the first India-based SI to partner with JBoss. We will leverage this partnership to help our customers build robust solutions with significant reduction in TCO and strengthen our leadership in open source technology.”

Speaking on the partnership, G S Raju, Senior Vice-president, Practice Head ADMS, Satyam said, “Satyam is known for its structured methodologies and virtual development techniques which ensure that software innovations are quickly, smoothly and fully integrated. Through this synergy we will be able to build and maintain high value yet cost-effective solutions based on the JBoss platform and see increased business opportunities for both partners in the J2EE open source world.”

Tom Cooper, Vice-president of Worldwide Channels, JBoss Inc commented, “As the JBoss ecosystem continues to grow globally, so will the need for providing worldwide support, consulting and services for our JEMS products. With its global infrastructure and significant existing base in Asia, Satyam will help propel adoption of enterprise open source in rapidly growing markets.”

Further, through this partnership, Satyam will be able to accelerate development or certification of J2EE applications in the open source world. Satyam will be fully equipped to provide latest technologies and architectures based on JBoss products.
