Compulink’s e-learning kit

Features: Compulink Systems has introduced an e-learning kit for Earned Value Management (EVM) and a learning tool to help understand and manage risks i.e. Project Risk Management (PRM).

EVM is a technique to control, manage and forecast projects. It is an approach by which the integration, measurement of cost, schedule and technical accomplishments on a project or task can be measured. It allows the examination of detailed schedule information, critical program, technical milestones and cost data. Epson’s Perfection 3490 Photo

Features: The Epson Perfection 3490 Photo comes with a 3200 by 6400 dpi resolution, 48-bit colour depth, film scanning capability and Easy Photo Fix software, which allows users to restore colour and monochrome film and photos in digital format for sharing and archiving purposes.

The Epson Perfection 3490 Photo’s MatrixCCD sensor with On Chip Micro-Lens technology delivers clarity and colour consistency so that users can create scans with rich and brilliant colours.

This scanner comes with a film holder that fits four frames of 35 mm filmstrips or three 35 mm mounted film frames. Scans photos and documents of up to A4 size, and transfers data with the USB 2.0 hi-speed interface. Its colour restoration function can be used to restore colour and monochrome film and photos, while the dust removal function allows users to remove ‘white spots’ caused by dust specks stuck on old film. Additionally, start, copy, scan to email, and scan to PDF options allow users to scan documents, photos and film into e-mail programs or PDF files.

Programs such as the ABBYYFineReader6 Sprint, ArcSoft PhotoImpression 5 and the NewSoft Presto BizCard 4 Limited Edition have been included with the Epson Creativity Suite.

HP’s Presario

Features: HP launched its new range of Presario desktops with an Intel Pentium 4 Processor 2.4 GHz, 128 MB DDR, 40 GB Ultra DMA hard drive, 48x CD-ROM drive and FreeDOS. The series has two configurations, the Compaq Presario SG1005IL and the Compaq Presario SG008IL.

The SG1008IL desktop has an Intel Pentium 4 Processor (2.4 GHz), and is equipped with an Intel 845GV chipset and 128 MB memory which can be expanded to 2 GB. There is also a 512 KB integrated L2 advanced transfer cache memory. The hard drive is a 40 GB Ultra DMA ATA. The desktops come with Intel Extreme Graphics and a network card. FreeDOS and Norton Internet security software are pre-loaded onto the desktops. The display is a 15” colour CRT device.
