Solid Edge enables PARI’s switch to 3D

Precision Automation and Robotics India (PARI), an automation and robotic systems provider has selected Solid Edge software, a 3D computer-aided design (CAD) system for the mainstream PLM market, as its corporate standard for 3D CAD.

PARI’s objective is to move to the next-generation solution from its existing 2D and conventional 3D CAD system, enabling acceleration of its digital product development processes. The primary reason PARI cited for selecting UGS was the ease with which Solid Edge can help the company evolve from its existing systems to a state-of-the-art 3D CAD system. The company also said that Solid Edge’s ability enables them to effectively address the constant increase in the design complexity of its products.

“PARI understands the value and importance of design automation in improved product quality and faster response to markets,” said Mangesh Kale, Managing Director, PARI. “We rely on Solid Edge’s power to help address our most complex and challenging design needs and its ease of use to help us get the job done fast. We found Solid Edge to be the best-suited system for managing our complete design cycle including design validation.”

“PARI conducted a comprehensive evaluation of various systems, and short listed Solid Edge and one other competitor. We selected Solid Edge, as we found it was more robust in handling large assemblies, had better 2D-to-3D work flow and, above all, allowed our product development team to work collaboratively using the Insight Managed Collaboration environment,” said Dr Ranjit Date, Joint Managing Director, PARI. “Another factor that tilted the scale in favour of Solid Edge was the availability of a wide range of inter-operable solutions from UGS, thus ensuring scalability of CAD implementation.”

“PARI’s selection of UGS following an extensive review process is a testament to Solid Edge’s superior capabilities. We look forward to implementing this next generation 3D CAD system at PARI,” said Narendar Reddy, Managing Director, UGS India. “With a robust product like Solid Edge and an experienced team, we are keen to help Indian companies increase their design efficiency and quality, to better compete in both domestic and international markets.”
