Exhibition

Shining through

Top industry players showcase their cutting-edge technologies.

Staying on top of technology is by no means easy. It takes time to stay abreast of changes, to tell facts from claims; to make sure they fit in with existing infrastructure. Technology Senate theme pavilions featured the latest products from the biggest players. Technologies that cover the very best in storage, wireless, connectivity, desktops & servers, document management and security were displayed at the theme pavilions. There were elaborate arrangements for live demonstrations, interactive presentations, one-on-ones with sellers and buyers. This is where all the action was taking place.

Says Pinakiranjan Mishra, Associate Director, Ernst & Young, “The response of the event has been encouraging. In the first half of the second day of TS 2005, we had two enquires—one from Star India, and the other, American Express. These events give a global platform for vendors and businesses to interact and exchange their experiences. Additionally, emerging businesses have money and are willing to spend on technology, which is why they are coming to us to help them solve their business hurdles.” N P Singh, Vice-president, IT, Madura Garments was realistic when he said, “There were important and interesting sessions no doubt but some tracks were back-to-back because of which many delegates did not find time to visit the theme pavilions.”

Executives of Amara Raja Batteries told Express Computer that it was fantastic to be able to address so many decision-makers under a single platform. The company received a positive response from CIOs and has been able to create awareness about the importance of batteries in UPS. ADC Krone executives said that its products created a lot of interest among CIOs and they were happy to be in the exhibition. An Emerson India official said that awareness regarding UPS was always there, but organisations used to treat it as something of a peripheral item. This conclave acted as an awareness builder for UPS systems that certainly goes beyond putting a box in the office.
