Apple’s enhanced Mac mini

Features: The Mac mini lineup includes three models: 1.25 GHz, 1.42 GHz and the 1.42 GHz Mac mini with SuperDrive (for burning DVDs and CDs). The two models of the Mac mini now include built-in AirPort Extreme for 54 Mbps 802.11g wireless networking along with an internal Bluetooth module.

Mac mini comes with one FireWire 400 and two USB 2.0 ports. It offers a DVI interface that supports VGA to connect to a variety of LCD or CRT displays and built-in 10/100 Base-T Ethernet. Every Mac mini includes iLife ‘05, Apple’s digital lifestyle applications featuring iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, GarageBand and iTunes.

CMR’s Radix protector

Features: Radix PC protector software claims to recover crashed PC in 59 seconds. The software instantly repairs system boot-up failure, crashed operating system or Windows registry (blue screen), unsuccessful software installations, corruption of files and data loss, accidental data file delete/overwrite, hard disk reformat/repartition and damage inadvertently made by an inexperienced user and other issues such as changed configuration and erased CMOS.

Radix is available in PCI version and USB version (for laptops). It enables management and recovery tasks from remote locations on the network using common management tools. In terms of security, Radix Gate key (after an authorisation verification process) enables password recovery and defective or lost device replacement.

Iomega’s MiniMax HDD

Features: Iomega’s MiniMax hard drive is designed for the form factor of a Mac Mini with a maximum of 250 GB of storage. It comes with three USB and three FireWire ports and functions like a Mac hub.

Its features include smart power switch, Dantz Retropect, and Iomega Automatic Backup Pro software for backup and recovery. Some of the features of Iomega Automatic Backup software include multiple backup locations, multiple file revisions (user selectable number of revisions to keep), and temporary caching of backup data (when backup media is unavailable). It is compatible with Microsoft Windows, 2000/XP, Macintosh G3 or greater, and iMac/Mac mini PC.

SMC 7901BRA ADSL2+ Barricade

Features: The SMC7901BRA ADSL2+ Barricade router is a solution for connecting and sharing ADSL Broadband. The Barricade router combines a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port and a USB port for connection to a PC. It comes with a built-in DHCP server. These devices support full-rate G.dmt, which allows a download speed of 24 Mbps and upload speed of 1 Mbps. Hitachi Travelstar 4K120

Features: Hitachi Global Storage Technologies has recently launched Travelstar 4K120, a 2.5-inch hard drive for the mainstream notebook and consumer electronic segments. The Travelstar 4K120 comes with an option for the AV streaming command set which enhances audio/video streaming capability in digital entertainment devices such as digital video recorders (DVR). It comes with a 120 GB of maximum capacity, parallel ATA-7 interface and is RoHS compliant.

The product uses the new Hitachi Voltage Efficiency Regulator Technology (HiVERT) along with with other power management mechanisms.
