Sharp’s AM-400 multi-function device

Features: AM-400 is a multifunction device which fax, copy, print and scan. The AM-400’s approximate faxing speed is three seconds per page.

The pages are printed face-down and in the correct order, so they’re ready to be read straight out of the output tray. The AM-400’s laser printer engine uses 600 x 600 dpi resolution. Additional features include copying at the rate of 12 copies per minute, and paper management with a capacity of 250 sheets.

The Sharpdesk software for document integration to the PC allows organising, editing and combining over 200 different file types on the desktop. Scanned files can be printed, e-mailed or archived. Using AM-400’s Button Manager, a document can be scanned directly into an application on the PC. The facility is extended to a range of applications, including Sharpdesk, e-mail, Microsoft Word and OCR.

Dell’s PowerEdge 850 server

Features: Dell has introduced two new PowerEdge servers featuring Intel dual-core processor technology. The PowerEdge 830 and 850 servers provide the performance and power of two processing units in a single socket, bringing up to a 79 percent increase in performance. Both support Windows Server 2003, Red Hat and SUSE Linux operating systems.

The PowerEdge 850 is a single-socket 1U (1.75-inch) rack mount server designed for small businesses and data centre customers. It is ideal as a Web and file-print server.

Additional features of the PowerEdge 850 include 2.53 GHz Intel Celeron, 2.8 or 3.6 GHz Intel P4 with 800 MHz front side bus, or 3.0/3.2 GHz Intel Pentium D dual-core processor and Intel E7230 chipset with advanced memory up to 8 GB of DDR-2 SD RAM.

Acer’s TravelMate 3000

Features: The TravelMate 3000 uses an Intel Pentium M processor, the Intel 915GM Express chipset, and the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG network solution.

Weighing 1.55 kg, the TravelMate 3000 has a 12.1 inch-wide display screen.

Acer SignalUp has been incorporated into this notebook for wireless connectivity. The notebook also supports PCI Express bus architecture and an external IEEE 1394 bus-powered DVD-Dual double layer optical drive that is capable of burning CDs and DVDs.

Gigabyte’s i-DNA series motherboards

Features: Gigabyte Technology has introduced the GA-8I955X royal, the new motherboard featuring the new Intel 955X Express chipset.

The new Intel 955X Express chipset sports a variety of new generation architectures including the latest dual-core processor, dual-channel DDR2 main memory, PCI Express interface, and Intel Matrix Storage technology for improving storage reliability and performance.

Additionally, Intel Extended Memory 64 technology allows the processor to run in legacy mode. Apple’s Mighty Mouse

Logitech’s Mobile Pro Headset

Features: Pro Headset comes with Bluetooth 1.2 technology and AFH (Adaptive Frequency Hopping) for less interference from other 2.4 GHz systems such as Wi-Fi. AFH enables Logitech Mobile Pro Headset to select open frequency bands when transmitting data within congested 2.4 GHz areas such as WiFi (802.11) hot spots.
