Systimax extends fibre solutions offering

Systimax Solutions has announced the launch of its new Systimax InstaPATCH Plus and G2 Systems of fibre connectivity solutions. These solutions will simplify the design, configuration and ordering of fibre apparatus. They are designed through in-depth consultations with both installers and end-users to ensure usability, practicality and flexibility.

According to Systimax, the InstaPATCH Plus solution is particularly important for data centres that have space and deployment constraints for the fibre solutions needed to connect servers and switches. The new system’s components can reduce onsite installation time by over 90 percent, and provide data centres with a smooth migration path from serial to parallel optical transmission technologies.

Says Chin Choi-Feng, the company’s Product Manager for Fibre-Optic Apparatus, “We believe the new InstaPATCH Plus and G2 systems allow greater design flexibility and higher density and performance while reducing the installation time and cost of ownership.”

NTSI likely to have first round of financing soon

Nano-Tech Silicon India, the country’s first mega fab at Hyderabad, is likely to get its first round of financing within 60 days from now, and commence commercial production by June 2006. The first round of financing comprises $64-72 million equity, $116-130 million debt, and a $150 million construction fund. According to Dr June Min, Chairman, Intellect Inc (a South Korea-based semiconductor company), one of the leading industrial companies in India will invest up to 25 percent of the total equity of $160 million and support it to the extent of $150 million by way of financing.

“The semiconductor fab is expected to cost over $12 billion for the next 15-17 years, and we need an industrial partner who can support us over this period,” says Dr Min.
