The models supplied will provide one hour backup to the connected PC loads, and the units will be supported by TVS-E for a period of five years. TVS-E will supply the 2200 VA and 3000 VA models from its LanUPS range, which are ideal for small networks with 6-9 PCs.

Says S Narendran, General Manager, Marketing, TVS-E, “Our national reach and our expertise in implementing such large-scale projects in the past have helped us win the order.” TVS-E will be working with HCL Infosystems to meet the requirements of the Department.

SPI acquires KGMT

SPI Technologies, a global content outsourcing services provider, has signed an agreement to acquire KG Information Services and Technologies’ medical transcription business (KGMT). “The KGMT acquisition gives us state-of-the art facilities in India with a capacity of over 800 employees to complement our medical transcription operations in the US and Philippines,” says Ernest Cu, President and CEO of SPI.

The growth in global medical transcription services is being driven by increased demand from the United States, where annual spending on medical transcription is expected to grow from $2.3 billion at present to more than to $4 billion by 2008 (IDC, January 2005).
