COSMOS
connectivity
Playwin had set up lottery terminals across the country and
wanted to connect these terminals to its central lottery server.
However, serial data generated by these terminals could not
be sent to the central server over IP-based CDMA and GPRS
systems. Moreover, confidential data had to travel over a
public network and it was a challenge to ensure a high level
of security.
Rethinking
storage management in a SOX world
The implications of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) have already
impacted many companies, including those that are not American-owned.
SOX was introduced in the US to counter an increase in high-profile
corporate crime. US-based multinationals with operations in
Asia as well as Asian companies planning to list in the US
have to comply with its strict rules for data protection ensuring
that data is reliably captured and stored, and readily available
for retrieval.
