Sutherland doubles India employee base to 7000

In one of the fastest BPO ramp-up operations, Sutherland Global Services has announced that it has more than quadrupled its employee base in India in the last 15 months. Sutherland which had an employee base of 1,500 in India in September 2003 has ramped up rapidly to a 7000-people BPO organisation. This is significant as Sutherland employs around 10,000 people worldwide.

Commenting on the company’s rapid growth in India, Sutherland’s chairman and CEO Dilip R Vellodi said, “Over the last two years, India has contributed significantly to the growth of Sutherland. The smooth transition of some US-based clients to the blended delivery model has been the prime reason for our rapid growth in 2004.”
