TCS' net up 38.2 percent

Like Infosys, TCS continues to demonstrate that the software segment still has some steam left. Its revenue was Rs 2,578 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2004, a growth of 38.2 percent from Rs 1,866 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, and up 6.1 percent from Rs 2,430 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2004. The company added 72 new clients in Q3 04. It also hired around 2,730 people during the quarter. The addition of clients in the quarter included one BPO customer and four for remote infrastructure management. In the automotive sector, Ferrari chose TCS as a strategic partner to provide IT and engineering services. Apart from software development, TCS will be providing core engine design services to Ferrari.
