Harbinger Group plans e-learning centre

E-learning player, the Harbinger Group is investing in a centre of excellence at Pune. The company, which has already made an investment of Rs 4.5 crore, now plans to invest an additional Rs 2 crore this year. Plans are afoot to increase the headcount to 200 from 110.

Said Vikas Joshi, chairman and managing director, Harbinger Group, “We want to create more value through a combination of intellectual property (IP) creation and IP-driven services such as consulting and outsourcing.” Currently, intellectual property-driven business accounts for 25 percent of its revenues, and is slated to go upto 50 percent in the medium-term. The company plans to grow its business in areas such as collaborative learning, content management, content authoring, learning management and virtual classrooms. It plans to increase its presence in the US through its subsidiary based in Redmond and expand its network of resellers in Europe, Asia-Pacific and other large global markets.
