Net4India to offer .IN domain names

Indian Internet Service Provider (ISP), Net4India is offering in-country domains
for an annual fee of Rs 800 per domain name. Companies that are interested in
taking up this offer can apply for the .IN domain in the sunrise period starting
from January 1 to January 21, 2005. Applicants will be required to apply through
an accredited registrar [such as Net4India]. Said Jasjit Sawhney, CEO, Net4India,
We feel that at least 50,000 domain names would be registered upto January
21, 2005. The sunrise period of 21 days gives the trademark holders an opportunity
to get domain names before the offer is opened to the general public.
Tesco launches shared service centre in Bangalore Retail major
Tesco has launched its Hindustan Service Centre (HSC) in Bangalore, India. HSC
will support the Tesco group by delivering IT and IT-enabled business processes
to the groups global operations. Tesco operates over 2,300 stores across
13 countries and employs more than 330,000 personnel. The HSC will act as a
centre of excellence for the business supporting existing technologies and introduce
new leading edge retail-focussed technologies and applications. Said Philip

centre.
