Quantum completes acquisition of Certance

Quantum Corporation has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Certance, a privately held global supplier of tape drives and data protection solutions. Under the terms of the agreement Quantum acquired Certance for $60 million in an all-cash transaction deal.

Post-acquisition, Quantum is the world's largest volume supplier of tape drives and tape automation.

Moser Baer facilities receive ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 certification

Moser Baer India Ltd’s, manufacturer of optical storage media, two largest plants-one each in Greater Noida and Noida-have been certified ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 complaint. The two plants contribute over 90 percent of the company’s production.

The systems were analyzed and audited by a team from Det Norske Veritas (DNV), prior to the award of the certification-on Environmental Management System (ISO 14001: 1996) and Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001:1999).

Sierra Atlantic to set up GDC in Hyd

Sierra Atlantic, an offshoring enterprise applications company, has announced its growth plans with the launch of its third facility 'Sierra Atlantic City Centre' in Hyderabad. As part of the expansion plan, Sierra Atlantic has already finalised a blueprint for the 2.50 lakh sqft global development centre, which would come up on a 7-acre campus in Banjara Hills. The campus would house 2,400 Sierra Atlantic associates. The first phase is expected to be ready by Q2 2006. Sierra Atlantic City Centre is a 40,000-sqft facility and can accommodate over 400 associates. The facility will provide implementation, integration, development, support and interoperability services to Sierra Atlantic's global customers.
