Feature on IT real estate in Tamil Nadu

IT park at PRGI

Ponnaiyah Ramajayam Group of Institutions (PRGI), established in Thanjavur, is one of the leading educational conglomerates in Tamil Nadu. PRGI is offering a number of diversified state-of-art career oriented courses in arts, science, commerce, management, education, catering, engineering and technology.

It has excellent infrastructure that includes high-tech laboratories, a computer centre and a herbal garden to support its learning and research activities. This institution has the distinction of being accredited with an 'A' grade by NAAC within a short span of ten years, an achievement appreciated by students, teachers and the public. PRGI has been promoting advanced research and learning in biosciences, information technology and management.

PRGI is involved in enhancing employment opportunities in the region by inviting industries, institutions and entrepreneurs to share its facilities (or establish new ones) inside its sprawling campus. PRGI believes that teaming and partnership programmes will make learning relevant and meaningful, besides paving the way for knowledge creation. This interactive working will reap commercial spin-offs to serve as an alternative revenue engine.

PRGI has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with Software Technology Parks of India for establishing a 1 lakh sq.ft. software technology park in its engineering college campus. This high-tech park will be a preferred destination for national and multinational IT companies, as it is designed to match the facilities at metros with an added advantage of having a skilled workforce available at a lesser cost.
