The accelerator effect
In the past, Microsoft has always sold Office on features. However, a large installed base which leaves little room for rapid expansion has prompted Microsoft to look beyond the suite’s traditional positioning. For starters, it built Office 2003 with support for XML with applications such as Infopath that can interact seamlessly with existing business systems.

Microsoft offers spam technology for Outlook
Microsoft India has announced the availability of the Exchange Intelligent Message Filter. A part of Microsoft’s anti-spam efforts, Intelligent Message Filter technology is available as a free add-on to Exchange Sever 2003.

Andhra Pradesh launches third phase of Hitec City
Cyber Pearl, the third phase of the Hitec City project in Hyderabad was inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh chief mininster Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. It is the first project by LTIAL, a joint venture between L&T Infocity and Singapore-based business space provider Ascendas. The first two phases were the Cyber Towers and Cyber Gateway projects.

Google opens Hyderabad ops
The search engine major is ramping up its Indian presence Google, the world’s largest Internet search engine company, has launched an online sales and operations centre at Hyderabad. Google’s Hyderabad Engineering Centre is its second centre in India and it will focus upon online sales, human resources, engineering, and operations.
