Plus launches electronic copyboard
PLUS
Business Machines (PBM) launched their M-5 range of electronic copyboards in
India.
The M-5 electronic copyboard lets users save, print and email the matter written
on it.
The M-5 enables on-board memory storage of 1.8 MB (approximately 15-20 pages)
and is compatible with Internet Explorer and Netscape webbrowsers and costs
Rs 49,900. In 2004, Plus sold 78,000 copyboard units.
As a part of their channel strategy to increase its penetration of the Indian
market, PBM held a dealer conference recently and is in the process of appointing
50 resellers across the country by the next quarter. At present, the company
has 150 reseller partners. It plans to appoint resident representatives in new
areas.
PCS to offer 3 year warranty to desktops and notebooks
PCS Industries has decided to play the warranty card to boost
its sales in India by introducing an additional two-year warranty extension
pack for its customers on all its desktop PCs and notebooks.
The company is not offering a three-year warranty as default with all PCs but
as an upgrade extension pack priced separately for each product line. These
packs would be attractively priced starting at Rs 3,500 and will be sold by
its channel partners across the country.
This programme will be held in 35 B & C class cities simultaneously.
Rashi wins DGS&D rate contract
Rashi Peripherals has been awarded the rate contract (RC) of the Director General
of Supplies and Disposals (DGS&D) for fifth successive term for various
IT products. DGS&D is an agency that identifies various vendors for meeting
future requirements of central government departments.
Since RC is applicable anywhere in India, Rashi is looking to expand its market
aggressively through its 32 branches and existing partners. The company is also
in the process of appointing more representatives and partners in cities it
does not have a presence in.
