Seagate to expand reach in B&C class cities

Abhinav Singh / Dubai

Sharad Srivastava

Seagate is bullish about the Indian hard disc drive market and is readying itself to address it with a new range of hard disc drives targeted at segments such as enterprise systems, PCs, notebooks and consumer electronics. Seagate is hopeful that extension of warranty from three to five years on all internal hard disc drives will help expand its customer base in India. Seagate is also aiming at strengthening its channel base and expanding its network into B&C class cities of India. It recently organised a 'Summer Surprise' programme in Dubai to reward some of its channel partners and distributors who had exceeded their sales targets. Some of the channel partners at the programme were drawn from B&C class cities such as Raipur, Jabalpur and Indore.

Sharad Srivastava, country manager, Seagate Singapore Internati-onal Headquarters said, "We are targeting SMEs in B&C class cities through a SME Tech Forum and plan to host a series of road shows in these cities as part of this initiative. We have also set up 32 SeaCare centres across the country and a national call centre to increase customer support."
