National Panasonic contemplates national dealer

Shipra Arora / New Delhi

National Panasonic India’s, System Product Division (SPD) has launched a slew of new products, strengthening its offerings in the MFD and LCD projector market segments. Also on the anvil is the launch of its heavy-duty laser printers for the first time in the Indian market. SPD is also contemplating sprucing up its channel to take care of its growing product portfolio by appointing a national dealer. On the channel front, the division, for the greater part, will be leveraging its existing network of channel partners to sell its products. It has, however, maintained that it will be expanding its force as and when required. Commenting on the company’s channel strategy, Shashi Bhushan, manager-Marketing, Systems Product Division said, “It is our strategy that whenever we launch products we first sell them through existing channel partners and expand the network as required.” Apart from national a presence and specialisation in direct sales, the division will be looking at a dealer who has a presence in IT-related products. This national dealer will be leveraged primarily for selling the high-end digital printer based MFDs. The company’s channel strategy will hold the key as it is expanding into new segments such as notebooks, digital cameras, high-end laser printers and high-end scanners.
