Siemens in alliance with Aethra

Siemens has entered into a strategic alliance with Aethra Telecomunicazioni of Italy, to offer an affordable, high performance range of video and audio conferencing solutions in India. For the first time in the Indian market, the alliance will offer comprehensive video conferencing solutions to every customer segment from home to large enterprises, in addition to specially-designed vertical-specific solutions for the medical, defence and broadcasting segments.

The Aethra solutions range from video telephones, portable systems to high-end conferencing room systems and codecs for custom-built conferencing rooms. These premium quality conferencing solutions can work on both IP and ISDN Networks. The ‘Theseus’ Video Phone is designed for the residential and SOHO user, the ‘Vega Pro’, with its plug and play capability caters to the small to medium business user while the flagship ‘Vega Star’ series is for customers requiring superior picture quality, collaborative tools and multi-location conferencing capabilities. The unique introduction in the Indian enterprise market is the Voyager—video in a brief case system, which is specially designed for telemedicine, defence and the broadcasting sectors. The system allows users to transmit audio, 30 fps video and data simultaneously over ISDN, dedicated lines and satellite networks (compatible with international standards).
