Texas Instruments expands its Indian operations

Texas Instruments (TI) has opened its new campus in Bangalore as part of its expansion plans. The new facility is aimed at enhancing and consolidating its chip development activities in India. It has consolidated two facilities into one location. The company will broaden its VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) circuit design and software development capabilities at this facility.

Rich Templeton, president and chief executive officer Texas Instruments Inc, said, “TI India is an integral part of our worldwide development strategy in bringing innovative products and technologies to our customers globally.”

The new facility will house around 1,000 employees and is spread across seven acres. It will have facilities for chip design, testing and validation with equipment for verification of both logical and physical IC manufacturing process. The campus also houses TI’s Texins facility which offers a variety of sport league, training, and numerous fitness, entertainment and recreation programmes.
