Budget 2004: Good intentions are not enough
THE government is going to adhere to the April 1, 2005 deadline, when WTO rules come into play. While the decision to abolish excise duty on finished PCs is a healthy sign as it aims to gradually eliminate the grey market and give a fillip to organised (both local and MNC) players, no one knows exactly how much PC prices will drop.
