Maples ESM expands Hyderabad facility

Maples ESM Technologies, an enterprise system management (ESM) services provider, is setting up an IBM mainframe facility at its existing centre in Hyderabad at an investment of $1.2 million. It is scaling up operations to 200 seats from 80 seats and has acquired 5,000 sqft for this purpose. It has an ESM competency centre in Chennai and satellite centres in Hyderabad, Pune and Bangalore in the country apart from those in Australia and the UAE. The company has 140 employees in India. With the expansion taking place, the company is anticipating revenues of Rs 15-20 crore in 2005-06 fiscal from domestic operations, while the turnover was Rs 8.60 crore in 2003-04.

It has already started a training programme on IBM mainframes in the city in addition to conducting courses on enterprise networking, mainframe application programming, systems administration, network management, IT security, Unix administration and soft skills etc. The objective of installing IBM mainframes is to look at maintenance projects. In Pune, server consolidation for remote management in voice, database, and networks is being undertaken.

“We handle about 36,000 technical accounts. We have already invested about Rs 40 lakh on the Hyderabad facility, which started operations in September 2003,” said Ram Subramani, chairman and CEO, Maples ESM Technologies. The company expects a turnover of $5 million in 2004-05 with its current order book position.
