SRINIVAS R
MISTRAL Software, which specialises in real-time embedded and telecom solutions,
is planning to set up a complete products company this year. “We have
partnerships with some global leaders in the embedded and telecom space. We
also develop our own embedded products. This year we are planning to come out
with products such as smart gadgets in the wireless segment,” revealed
Anees Ahmed, president and chief executive officer, Mistral.
“Some work is currently going on in the radio frequency
identification space. We want to take this further, and for this we would like
to have a separate outfit in the next 12 months,” he added. “Globally
a lot of activity is taking place in the wireless space. A lot of convergence
is also happening among products. In the next three to five years we might see
new types of wireless products for the consumer market.”
The company also wants to grow inorganically. “We are
planning to take the M&A (mergers and acquisition) route for growth. If
we find a good partner, we might end up having a partnership, or we might look
at acquiring the company with a stock-swap deal,” Ahmed stated.
Meanwhile, the company has entered into a reseller partnership
agreement with Continuous Computing (CC) to sell their products in India. CC
provides hardware, software, middleware and pre-integrated solutions that let
telecom equipment manufacturers develop and deploy voice-over-IP and 3G wireless
infrastructure applications.
