JP Mobile acquires PDA Defence product from Asynchrony
CIRCUIT EC / Hyderabad
ENTERPRISE mobility software company J P Mobile has acquired PDA Defence, a
security product from Asynchrony Inc. JP Mobile will re-brand the product and
call it SureWave Mobile Defence. It will launch three new editions of the SureWave
Mobile Defence product all of which will continue to have PDA Defence’s
device security features at their core.
The product offers multi-layered security for Microsoft Windows Mobile, Palm
OS, Symbian, and Research In Motion (RIM) devices.
The integration of the PDA Defence stand-alone security solution with JP Mobile’s
SureWave Enterprise Server results in a solution where data is encrypted ‘on
transmission and on the device’, creating a fully-integrated mobile device
security solution. This positions JP Mobile as the only company that offers
Push E-mail/PIM (personal information management) solutions enabling end-to-end
security where all data—including authentication data such as user names,
passwords, etc—are encrypted.
“JP Mobile continues to look at strategic acquisitions that complement
its SureWave Enterprise Mobility platform and also meets an enterprise’s
needs. The company has not only acquired the PDA Defence product but also an
extensive list of customers and partners currently using the product,”
said Dayakar Puskoor, chief executive officer of JP Mobile.
