Navigant Technologies, an Indian business outsourcing firm has announced a joint venture with Modern Digital Communi-cations (MDC), an Internet telephony service provider in Canada to offer complete back-office support for MDC’s global clientele.

The JV will be named Navigant Call Centre (NCC) and it will function as a captive centre of the Canadian company.

NCC will commence operations in July 2004. It will recruit 300 people in the next two years. Ankur Bhatia, CEO of Navigant Technologies will be the CEO of this 51:49 JV in which MDC will have the majority stake.

This partnership will allow Navigant to leverage its expertise in B2B outsourcing by handling end-to-end CRM processes for MDC including collections, customer service, sales and web support.

“This is possibly the first time an outsourcing firm in India has engaged in such a relationship model where the client enjoys ownership rights from day one,” says Bhatia.

The initial investment earmarked for setting up NCC is $1 million and the focus is on infrastructure development, training programmes and quality assurance. The skill set for professionals would encompass technology, business strategy and qualitative analysis.

Navigant Technologies handles B2B outsourcing processes across industries such as IT, Telecom and BFSI. The company has 12 clients including Oracle, SGI and PTC.
