Oracle adds India payroll features to HRMS E-Business Suite

Circuit EC / Bangalore

Shekhar Dasgupta

Oracle has announced the availability of India-specific payroll features to its existing Human Resource Management Systems (HRMS) E-Business Suite. The payroll incorporates Indian Income Tax forms.

Shekhar Dasgupta, managing director, Oracle India said, “90 percent of HR practices are common and only 10 percent is localised to suit the local market. The Indian payroll module will help new and existing customers to incorporate Indian taxation rules and aid in calculation of taxes (Income Tax and Form 16 among others). We are using our global rule processing engine in the payroll.”

The payroll module will be available to Oracle’s existing 40-odd HRMS customers in the country, such as HDFC, IDBI and Indian Railways. Dasgupta added that Oracle HRMS gives Indian customers the ability to transform workforce-related data into meaningful information and help decision-makers gain immediate access to real-time and complete operational data. Deregulation in the telecom market and the financial services industry is creating opportunities in the HR segment. This is going to drive the HRMS market in India.

Oracle HRMS helps companies manage all aspects of their workforce, including payroll and expense management, recruitments, hiring, benefits administration, training and performance management.
