Blue Star Infotech (BSIL) has been awarded ‘The European Seal of Excellence’ award by the European Multimedia Association Convention (EMMAC) for its work on an UK government-funded e-learning project. The award ceremony was held outside Europe for the first time and was organised by the Interactive Technology, Software and Media Association (ITSMA). Blue Star Infotech was considered for the award on the basis of many parameters, including innovation, performance, user friendliness, social benefit, market creation and market penetration.

Blue Star Infotech started working on the three-year project a year back. The project work involved re-engineering the architecture of the e-learning engine and to devise spoken e-learning courses for the blind. The architectural review of the e-learning engine involved improving its scalability and usability. Blue Star Infotech has bagged another UK government-sponsored e-learning project as a result of its work on the first one.

Sudhir Gera, vice president and head of Marketing, Blue Star Infotech said, “The e-learning market is a huge opportunity for us, especially when it comes to adding speech to courses. We are in talks in Germany, France and Japan to bag similar e-learning projects.”

Blue Star Infotech has a special team that works on e-learning projects and speech-enabled applications. It has employed foreign nationals from France, Germany and Spain who work closely with its Indian team to make speech applications multilingual.
