Pureview Tech enters India

PUREVIEW Technologies, a joint venture between Pureview India and Funet of Taiwan, has announced the launch of its Indian operations. The company will offer cutting-edge viewing technology solutions in India. It has plans to introduce products like notebook computers, LCD monitor-cum-TVs and plasma televisions within the next six months in India.

Pureview has set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for all the above products in technical collaboration with Funet. Pureview says it is the first electronics company in India to utilise the FTA (Free Trade Agreement) between SAARC nations. It also lays claim to being the first Indian LCD monitor company and the second Indian IT company to set up a manufacturing base in Sri Lanka under the FTA. This will also be the point of supply for the company for its entire SAARC operations. This move will reduce the time to bring monitors to India to two days from current average of approximately 20 days.

The company plans to double its investment in India over the next 18-24 months. Initially it has invested around $3.3 million in the country. The investment will be mainly towards setting up a manufacturing base here. “Exporting to other countries from India provides various cost and other strategic advantages,” said Sudipto Mukherjee, the company’s country manager for India.
