CYPRESS India, the subsidiary of the US-based Cypress Semiconductor,
intends to strengthen its presence in India. The company has design
centres in Bangalore and Hyderabad, where total headcount is expected
to go up to 315 engineers by end-2004 from the existing 160.

Tech to double headcount
INFINEON Technologies India, a subsidiary of the Munich-based Infineon
Technologies, will double its headcount in India from the current
200 to 400 by the end of 2004. Today, close to 80 percent of its
200 employees are software engineers and 15 percent develop tools.
