Trend Micro announces suite of products for SMEs

Circuit EC / Mumbai

Ralph Liu

Trend Micro, a leading vendor of network anti-virus and Internet content security

software services recently announced the introduction of new products designed to address the needs of small and medium enterprises. Said Ralph Liu, vice president, Asia-Pacific, Trend Micro, “Trend Micro is the first major anti-virus vendor to design products based solely on a small customer’s needs. We believe that these products offer the same benefits as our enterprise products.”

Through the introduction of its client/server suite, Client/Server/messaging suite and InterScan VirusWall for the SME segment, the company believes that it has simplified management of desktop, server, gateway and Microsoft Exchange security. The ‘client/server suite for SME’ product provides protection for desktops and laptops against multiple security threats through a single integrated console. The ‘Client/Server/Messaging suite for SME’ goes a step forward by providing e-mail anti-virus security solutions for customers with in-house Microsoft Exchange servers. This suite also includes built-in heuristic anti-spam technology that helps lower the cost and complexity of anti-spam protection.

The third product, InterScan VirusWall for SME is an all-in-one gateway anti-virus and content solution designed to scan for threats on SMTP, HTTP and FTP streams. Also included is POP3 traffic scanning, which helps ensure networks are protected even when employees access their Internet e-mail accounts. The company claims that this level of protection is often overlooked by small and medium enterprises.
