Gurukulonline to offer eMeet through ASP model

Srikanth R P / Mumbai

Gurukulonline, a specialist player in providing e-learning solutions, has announced the availability of its Web conferencing solution called eMeet through the ASP model. This is an innovative move from the company since traditionally e-learning companies in India have found the going tough due to non-availability of infrastructure.

Shailesh Mehta

Says Shailesh Mehta, CEO, Gurukulonline Learning Solutions, “Every new technology needs time to mature and catch up in the marketplace. We believe that by offering eMeet through the ASP model, corporates would be encouraged to try Web conferencing solutions as they do not have to invest in the necessary hardware and software.” Mehta believes that once corporates are confident of the solution, they would be encouraged to own the solution. To boost adoption of Web conferencing facilities, Mehta is even looking at forging alliances with cybercafe chains, wherein registered users can go and participate in seminars facilitated through the Web.

Additionally, to be one step ahead of the competition, Gurukulonline plans to offer value-added services like giving its customers the option of recording their live training sessions or discussions and making it available to them in an offline or Web-based model. Currently, the company has around six customers who have purchased the solution, a number that Mehta believes would increase with the ASP offering.
