i2 Technologies optimistic about future growth

CIRCUIT EC / Bangalore

In an effort to to boost its bottomline, i2 Technologies has cut its sales expenditure from $80 million per quarter, during the dot-com boom, to $25 million today. The company had revenues of $1 billion in 1999, which came down to $400 million in 2002-03. i2 Technologies plans to increase its software development base in India and is working closely with its Indian customers. i2 Technologies has in the recent past moved a major portion of its research and software development work to its India development centre and undertakes 60 percent of its global development work from India.

Sanjiv Sidhu, founder, chairman and CEO, i2 Technologies said, “i2 Technologies achieved stability in 2002, it is heading towards efficiency in 2003 and we look forward to 2004 and beyond for a revival in growth. Although we have only 10-15 customers in India, they are of strategic importance as they are close to our product development team here.”

In India, i2 Technologies, which provides end-to-end supply chain management solutions, has Asian Paints, Raymonds, Escorts, Maruti and Indian Oil as some of its customers, while globally Dell, Frito Lay, Shell Oil, Toshiba and Texas Instruments are its clients.
