D-Link commissions global tech support centre
D-Link has commissioned a sophisticated global tech
support centre in Mumbai to provide voice-based technical support for its products
to English speaking D-Link overseas business units worldwide. The company has
already invested close to $1 million in setting up the state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The centre has a capacity of 100 seats and is presently manned by a team of
50 engineers. The company plans to increase the number of seats to 200 in the
near future. D-Link also plans to set up another centre, the location for which
hasn't been finalised as yet.
Currently, D-Link USA outsources business worth $10
million to companies within the US. This business will now be outsourced to
D-Link India. The deal is expected to result in tremendous savings for D-Link
USA and revenues for D-Link India. By the end of September, D-Link India will
handle 20 percent of D-Link USA's call traffic and will then ramp up its services
to handle the call traffic of all D-Link overseas business units.
